Wikipedia Bans Church of Scientology
Wikipedia has banned the Church of Scientology from editing any articles. It’s a punishment for repeated and deceptive editing of articles related to the controversial religion. The landmark ruling comes from the inner circle of a site that prides itself on being open and inclusive. In a 10-1 ruling Thursday, the site’s arbitration council voted to ban users coming from all IP addresses owned...

This is what happens when 5 interns make a comic
We all took turns doing frame by frame making up a random story, then we proceeded to pitch the story using the “storyboard” as an aid to the president of walden media. Posted via email from Mark Kammel | Comment »

Yellow Arrow
Check out this website I found at yellowarrow.net “Yellow Arrow is fundamentally a new way of exploring cities. A harbinger of the “geospatial web,” Yellow Arrow began in 2004 as a street art project on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Since then, Yellow Arrow has grown to over 35 countries and 380 cities globally and become a way to experience and publish ideas and...

Bored at home? Watch "Cotton Stones", a short film
via vimeo.com This is one truly amazing short film. It was shot as a thesis for a student at the london film school using an ariflex film camera, which explains all the grain. The cinematography is clearly the best part in it. warning: the language is really really explicit. Posted via web from Mark Kammel | Comment »

Website: My Commute Sucks (take it up with...
via mycommutesucks.org This website basically lets you vent about how much your life sucks when you are commuting, except all your complaints get forwarded to congress somehow. Sort of like FML, except… well, it’s the exact same thing but with cars. Posted via web from Mark Kammel | Comment »

The Roomba + long-exposure photography = Insane
via signaltheorist.com This is proof that (a) the roomba is awesome and (b) it is better than humans at art. This is done by taking one individual shot over a really long period of art, thus, anything with a strong source of light (like the orange LED on the roomba) will be tracked. Slow Motion Surfing = Amazing

The Faceless Gallery by Fabuchan
via flickr.com Fabuchan on Flickr has a lot of great photography stills. My favorite among his galleries is the “[Faceless]”. It’s all street photography taken in London, and there are some really interesting stills in it. My favorite is the one above; it’s not necessarily upbeat (feels almost like zombies) but i still love it. find the gallery here:...

It’s an exciting, stellar-yet-earthy blast that successfully blends the hip and the classic via rottentomatoes.com The reviews for star trek are surprisingly amazing. The top critics are scoring it higher than Batman: The Dark Knight. Who knew? (all the star trek fans probably did, but no one listens to them) Posted via web from Mark Kammel | Comment »

Kindle DX makes me want to read suddenly
via wired.com The new kindle DX is the same kindle youve always seen, but now its larger, with the intent to penetrate the textbook market.
